Classes for ages
4-6, 6-10 & 10-17
The wide age range of this class fosters an environment where older/more advanced students are given the opportunity to support and begin teaching their younger counterparts. Fundamental wrestling, judo, and Jiu Jitsu remain at the core of this class with continued advancement in guard, passing, and submission skills- as well as an expectation to understand the physical principles behind what makes jiu jitsu work. Students who commit and excel in the youth class will be invited to adult class.
Students continue to hone their wrestling and fundamental Jiu-Jitsu skills, while advancing into more complex use of the gi, and advanced guards, passing, and submissions. Emphasis on positional sparring and full sparring rounds begins here.
This class focuses on the fundamental movements of Jiu-Jitsu and tumbling, with a heavy influence on wrestling. Students will learn to achieve and escape the three central “pins” in Jiu-Jitsu: back, mount, and side control, as well as basic sweeping, passing, and submissions. Students learn through drilling and games, as well as the beginnings of positional sparring and full sparring rounds.
Kids 1 and Kids 2 groups enjoy wrestling every Friday with coaches Trevor Gale and Mike Colon. Both Trevor and Mike bring years of experience on the mat and a passion for teaching, making sure every child learns in a safe, supportive, and motivating environment. These classes give kids a chance to practice important takedown skills while also learning focus, discipline, and confidence.
Our youth wrestling program is designed for middle school and high school athletes looking to sharpen their takedown skills and overall mat performance. Classes run on Friday with Coach Mike Colon and on Saturday with Coach Trevor Gale, and are held alongside our adult wrestling classes. This gives teens the chance to train in a more advanced environment while still receiving instruction and attention tailored to their level. The program is free to local students with at least one season of wrestling experience, helping young athletes stay in shape, build confidence, and gain an edge for their school season.
